Our Program
African Seniors Support Initiative
Promoting Dignity, Connection & Healthy Aging.
Hello...

Our African Seniors Engagement & Support Initiative promotes the well-being, dignity, and social participation of African Canadian seniors in our community. The program recognizes the importance of culturally affirming spaces where seniors feel respected, heard, and supported as they age.
Through culturally relevant programs, we provide seniors with opportunities to stay active, informed, and connected. By addressing social isolation, access to information, and health awareness, the initiative strengthens quality of life while fostering meaningful relationships, lifelong learning, and continued community involvement.
Program Activities:
- Workshops on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, leadership development, and personal empowerment
- Wellness and health education workshops
- Digital literacy training for seniors
- Alzheimer’s & dementia awareness sessions
- Social, cultural, and recreational activities, including community outings and excursions
- Information, navigation, and referral support
- Intergenerational programs that bring youth and seniors together
